July 31–Aug 30, 2020
Throughout August (prime mushroom season in Southwestern Colorado), Tara Butson, local resident and co-owner of San Juan Outdoor Adventures, will take guests on a half-day adventure in the San Juan Mountains. You will visit spots within the Lizard Head wilderness area (exact locations are kept secret), to hike and forage for an array of indigenous mushrooms including Chanterelle, Morel and King Bolete (Porcini). Upon returning to The Hotel Telluride, the hotel’s culinary team will demonstrate how to clean the mushrooms the guests collected and create a personalized private 3-course mushroom-themed dinner with wine pairing.
