From Majestic Eagles to Migrating Hummingbirds, this Exclusive and Annual Bird Watching Opportunity is Available May 1 – March 31.
Nothing quite captures the essence of an area than the birds that inhabit it. Sitting at 8,750-feet in the southwestern portion of Colorado, among the highest terrain in the San Juan Mountains, Telluride is a picturesque historic mining and ski town, home to well-known film and bluegrass festivals, and it is also a great town for wildlife watching, including wild birds in the summer, fall, and early winter. Birder guests will have the opportunity to site magnificent Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles, elusive Black Swifts; multiple species of tiny, yet high-octane hummingbirds and majestic Sandhill Cranes, among other bird species along the way.
Depending on the season and/or bird species, guests meet Eric Hynes in the hotel lobby in either the morning or late afternoon and are transferred to their birding adventure. Eric will provide guests use of binoculars and/or a spotting scope. While bird-watching, guests stop along the way to take in the views and enjoy their picnic lunch provided by The Hotel Telluride.
